My selection of favorite images from a warm late fall family session at an epic location: Pheasant Branch Conservancy, in Middleton. For this session we took an easy hike up the hill, it was real and natural, and the kids had so much fun.
I’m going through a big bad ebb, it’s been going on for a while, it doesn’t feel great. But on Holga Week I showed up with my cameras, and while I didn’t get me out of rut, it felt like the right thing to do.
A family session from a family who knew my work from a preschool I photographed last fall, with a little girl full of spirit, and that was pure gold.
Car photos, such a trope. I love to hate on them, but I’m also guilty. So why are cars such a photographic impulse? And how I decide whether to photograph a car to tell meaningful stories.

Every year I photograph my kids as they step outside the door and head towards their bus stop on the first day of school, but somehow I’ve kept them unpublished. No more, these are this year’s back-to-school portraits of Emilio and Adriano.
